We invite you to take part in the international scientific and practical conference “Modern approaches in Traumatology, Orthopedics and rehabilitation: Innovations and practical implementation” dedicated to the 110th anniversary of Professor H.J. Makazhanov’s birth, who was the founder of the traumatology service of the Karaganda region and the 75th anniversary of the Karaganda Medical University.
The conference is included in the plan of events of the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan and will be held on October 9-10, 2025 in Karaganda.
Conference organizers are National Scientific Center of Traumatology and Orthopedics named after Academician N.D. Batpenov, Kazakhstan Association of Traumatologists and Orthopedists, Karaganda Region Healthcare Department, Multidisciplinary Clinical Hospital named after Professor H.J. Makazhanov, Karaganda Medical University, Public Foundation named after Academician Nurlan Batpenov.
Every year more than 500 orthopaedic traumatologists from all over the world gather.
The conference program will be presented to doctors: plenary sessions; educational events (master classes, cadaver courses, satellite symposiums); conference of young scientists “Batpenov readings”; poster speech presentations; exhibition of medical products.

Articles and abstracts for reports will be accepted until July 1, 2025 online, via the journal's website (https://journaltokaz.org). Articles and abstracts will be published in a special issue of the journal “Traumatology and Orthopaedics of Kazakhstan” and provided on electronic media.

ARTICLES AND ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION GUIDELINES AND RULES.
Articles and abstracts will be accepted online via journal website https://journaltokaz.org
ARTICLES SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
All articles should be in WORD format in Arial font, 12 – point size, without hyphenation single line spacing, with 2 cm margins on all sides.
General requirements:
The title page contains the title of the article, data (full name, place of work, name of department, position, academic degree/title (if any)) of all participants mentioned as the authors. The author's contact information for the editors, as well as the postal address, telephone number, and e-mail address should be provided at the bottom of the title page. The title page is drawn up in Kazakh, Russian, and English.
The abstract should not exceed 300 words. The abstract of original articles has the purpose, methods, results, conclusions and keywords. The abstract of review articles is designed as a single paragraph, which contains information about the relevance of the selected topic. The abstract should not use abbreviated words. The abstract is also designed in Kazakh, Russian and English.
The text of the original article should include sections such as introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, conclusions and references.
The introduction should clearly define the nature and purpose of the study. This section should provide the background for the study. It is necessary to justify and specify the specific objectives or hypothesis of the study.
Materials and methods: these should include the study design, a description of the participants or type of material used in the work, a description of all the measures taken and the type of statistical analysis. In this section, the author should declare that the study complies with the basic ethical principles.
Results: This section should present the data obtained and the results of the statistical analysis. The results should be presented in a logical sequence in the form of text, tables, and figures.
Discussion: This section should include an interpretation of the results of the study. These data should be discussed in the context of the results of other studies described in the reference.
Conclusions: Conclusions should be related to the objectives of the study and should be presented as a single paragraph. Conclusions should not contain unqualified statements and conclusions that are not supported by the data you have obtained.
The text of review articles has an introduction, as well as a main part structured into subsections with titles and conclusions.
The list of references should be given on a separate sheet of paper, double-spaced. The references should be numbered consecutively in Arabic numerals in the order in which they are first mentioned in the text. The reference number should be placed in brackets at the end of the sentence before the period. The reference should contain the following information: authors, article title, journal name, year, volume, first and last pages of the article. Book references should include only the year, first and last pages of the article.
Tables should be typed on a separate sheet of paper, double-spaced. Each table should contain a title and table numbering in the order in which it is first mentioned in the text. All abbreviations used in the table should be presented in alphabetical order in the table legend.
Figures should also have a title and numbering. Figures should be clear and presented at least 300 dots per inch (DPI) in JPEG format.
ABSTRACTS SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
Abstracts are prepared in WORD using Arial 12 font, single-spaced, no more than 1 A4 page with 2 cm margins on all sides. Abstract formatting: 1st line – title in capital letters (no abbreviations), 2nd line – authors’ full name (speaker is listed first); 3rd line – position, name of institution, city, country. Abstract should be an informational message containing the purpose of the study, specific description of materials and methods, brief description of results, and conclusion. Do not include tables, graphs, or illustrations in the abstract text. Expand any abbreviations used in the text. The abstract text must be carefully edited. Please provide keywords (no more than 6) for indexing at the end of the abstract. If the abstract has several authors, they are entered in the authors line, separated by commas, with the last name first and then the initials of the authors. If the authors of the abstract work for different organizations, a number is indicated after the author's last name, and then the same number is used to indicate the organization in the place of work line. The names of organizations should be listed separated by commas.
Each abstract is prepared separately in a separate file.
The authors are responsible for the reliability of the data provided in the materials.
The editor has the right to make any changes in the article, if such changes do not diminish the value of scientific data presented in the material.

CONFERENCE OF YOUNG SCIENTISTS “BATPENOV READINGS”
The conference will take place on October 10, 2025 from 09:00 a.m. to 01:00 p.m.
The purpose of the conference is supporting the initiatives of young scientists and helping them
to realize their scientific potential.
The conference can be participated by students, researchers (people working in a scientific
organization, a higher educational institution or a scientific unit of an organization) who have a
scientific degree (candidate of science, PhD, doctors of the profile), under 40 years old, actively
participating in scientific research.
Please submit the application form and the accompanying materials no later than July 1, 2025
to e-mail address: batpenov_readings@nscto.kz
Only one author must submit the paper, and each author may submit only one paper to the
Competition, which will be present at a special section. The papers can be submitted in Russian,
Kazakh and English languages.
A special jury determines the winner.
To participate in the Competition, you must provide the following documents (in electronic form):
- Application form (Attachment 1);
- Annotation of the paper (no more than three pages, no more than 38 lines on a page, 65 characters per line). The annotation must clearly indicate the contribution of the applicant;
- List of published works related to the research topic proposed for the Competition;
- Texts of the works listed in clause 3 in electronic format.
Submission of the papers to the competition means the agreement of the competition
participants for processing and using the presented information by the jury of the competition.
The duration of the speech is no more than 10 minutes.
The presentation must be in Power Point format.
The prize fund is $1,000.
1st place - 500 USD;
2nd place - 300 USD;
3rd place - 200 USD.
